Continuous in-service training on curriculum
development, first aid/CPR, and promoting self-esteem
in young children is expected of all employees.
Director and Head Teachers are First Aid and CPR
certified and trained in preventing the spread
of contagious disease through universal precautions.
All staff are state mandated reporters for suspected
child neglect or abuse and are trained in identifying
signs of neglect and abuse.

Director:
The Director is responsible for overall
Child Care Center operations, including management
and staff supervision.

Head Teachers:
The Head Teachers are responsible for
classroom management, including daily schedules,
curriculum and developmental assessments. Their
minimum qualifications are:

Age 21 or older
-
Bachelors Degree in a child development field
of study with emphasis on early childhood
education

Experience teaching in an early childhood
program

First Aid Certificate and CPR (current)

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and evacuate
children in times of emergency

Gallick has been with the child care
since 1981.

Lisa
Lee has been a head teacher here since
1988.

Pam
Morbitzer has been a Head Teacher
at ISU Child Care Center since Fall, 1993

Teacher Aides:
In addition to professional staff the child care
recruits teacher aids and volunteers
that currently attend Illinois State University.
They assist Head Teachers & the Director in
classroom activities or as needed. Their minimum
qualifications are:

An ISU student 18 years or older

Experience with young children
-
Ability to lift 50 pounds and evacuate children
in times of emergency

Graduate Assistants:
Graduate Assistants are able to complete
an assistantship through the Child Care Center.
They are in the center for a total of 20 hours
per week. Their minimum qualifications are:

Age 18 or older
-
Family & Consumer Sciences Graduate
student with a 3.20 GPA
